Senior Project Update #4

  I'm proud of my work on this project. Anytime I would sit down and work on it over the past month I felt like I was making a positive contribution to my community; I think that's a great way to feel about a senior project. I was able to create a detailed report and presentation, which is what I originally set out to do. I am also preparing to present the results to the administration and have been meeting regularly with ARC members to prepare. Overall, I think this project was a good choice for me. I don't think I would necessarily recommend this project to others. I think I felt like I had unfinished business with this survey analysis, which is what drew me towards working on it. However, other people might not have the same motivation. I also think it would've been valuable for me to have more structure with this project. While I was able to fill my time with volunteering, coaching and playing squash, and working at Chipotle, I still wished I had more to do in terms...

Senior Project Update #3

This week I finished my report and I'm now really excited to get started on my presentation for senior projects and for my meeting with the administration. This week I was actually also able to get together with a friend to work on our projects together and that was a great experience. It definitely made me feel less alone and kept me focused and productive. So far I have continued to learn about the process of writing a report like this. In my last post, I noticed a couple comments wondering about the information I've learned so far from my survey, so here is an analysis of one of the most interesting questions on the survey: " The majority of what I learned about race, racism, and antiracism came from Catlin Gabel." Nearly 60% of respondents answered either “Neutral/not sure”, “I somewhat disagree”, or “I disagree”.
